Delete or Restore Projects

Understand how project deletion works, the difference between soft delete and permanent delete, and how to restore deleted projects.

Important Notice

Tokly uses a two-stage deletion system. When you delete a project, it moves to trash where it can be restored for 30 days. After 30 days or manual permanent deletion, the project and all its data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

Types of Deletion

Soft Delete (Move to Trash)

Moves the project to trash. The project is hidden from your dashboard but can be restored within 30 days.

  • Project moved to trash
  • Website becomes inaccessible
  • Data preserved for 30 days
  • Can be restored anytime

Permanent Delete

Permanently removes the project and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.

  • All project data deleted
  • Domain becomes available
  • Cannot be recovered
  • Action is irreversible

How to Delete a Project

Go to Your Dashboard

Navigate to your project dashboard where all your projects are displayed as cards.

Click the Delete Button

Find the project card you want to delete and click the delete button (trash icon) on the project card.

Confirm Deletion

A confirmation dialog will appear. Review the information and confirm that you want to move the project to trash.

Note: Your website will become immediately inaccessible, but you can contact support to restore it within 30 days.

What Happens When You Delete

Soft Delete Effects

When moved to trash, the following happens:

  • • Website becomes offline immediately
  • • Project hidden from dashboard
  • • Moved to trash folder
  • • All data preserved
  • • 30-day restoration window
  • • Domain remains reserved

Permanent Delete Effects

Permanently deleted data includes:

  • • All project content
  • • Website configuration
  • • Uploaded images and logos
  • • Custom settings
  • • Analytics data
  • • Domain becomes available for reuse

Restoring Deleted Projects

How to Restore a Project

Projects in trash can be restored within 30 days by contacting our support team.

To restore a deleted project, please reach out to our support team with your project details:

What to include in your request:

  • • Your account email
  • • Project name or domain
  • • Approximate deletion date
  • • Reason for restoration

Important: Restoration requests must be made within 30 days of deletion. After this period, projects are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Automatic Permanent Deletion

30-Day Retention Policy

Projects in trash are automatically permanently deleted after 30 days. This helps keep your account clean and frees up resources.

  • Projects older than 30 days in trash are automatically deleted
  • You'll receive email notifications before automatic deletion
  • Once automatically deleted, projects cannot be recovered
